Why I love the
bus ministry
When I was 12 years old we moved
from upper Michigan to lower
Michigan. I came from a poor
home, but a good home, although
we never went to church. We only
lived there two weeks when Mrs.
Bell knocked on our door and
asked if we would like to come
to church. My mom said we could.
The next Sunday morning the van
came and picked us up. At the
end of the service, Pastor
Williams asked if everyone knew
they were
going to heaven . I didn't. He
said to come forward and he
would show us from the Bible how
we could be certain. I went
forward and accepted Christ.
From that moment on I knew I was
going to heaven .
Mr. Omen
drove the church van for many
years. During that time I
had only one Sunday School
teacher, Mrs. Donna Scott. She
taught me many things that saved
me heartaches. When I was in the
Army several of the men were
going to get tattoos. I
remembered Mrs. Scott
teaching that the Bible states
we are not to have tattoos.
I didn't go with them and 30
years later, I still
have no regrets. The church
faithfully sent out the van
every Sunday. Hundreds of people
were saved through the van
ministry. Many are still serving
God.
Because of that van 8 out of 9
people in my family are saved.
Almost all my nieces and
nephews are saved.
The reason I love the bus
ministry is because that's the
tool God used to bring me to
Christ. I am not special,
and what God did for me He will
do for others. I believe that
there is a family in the area
that God will use the bus
ministry to see all of them come
to Christ.
